Japanese Garden Society event

The Japanese Garden Society is holding an event at Cascades Gardens on Saturday 17th June that will include informal talks and demonstrations during the day from JGS members. These will include

  • The pruning of small Acers to encourage a good shape and maintain a Japanese style.
  • A demonstration of the ancient Chinese Martial Art of Tai Chi
  • Rock placement in Japanese gardens.
  • A simple demonstration of the basics of Bonsai
  • Historic Japanese stories and myths

The day starts from 10.30am and sessions will be held throughout the day up to 4pm. The entry fee is £8 at the entrance on arrival and this will allow visitors to attend any or all of the sessions. However, space is limited and If you want to make sure you get into the session and time that you want, please book via e mail  alan.clements@cascadesgardens.com . We will also be selling refreshments including a choice of home-made sandwiches and cakes and if you want to reserve these in principle, please do so.

The garden and bonsai centre can now be viewed by appointment. Please ring Alan on 07967337404. Admission to the garden £8 per person, bonsai centre access free. We welcome dogs on leads.
